Katherine and Kathi first started working together in 1989. At the time Kathi was a management consultant who focused on solving business problems. It didn't take long for her to noltice that the problems she was hired to solve didn't go away because the real problems were with the individuals who hired her. There were sales people who said they made 10 calls a day, but couldn't pick up the phone, a business owner who had a mean bookkeeper but couldn't seem to fire him, and an HR manager who needed an assistant desperately but couldn't hire one for herself. These people needed to overcome obstacles that were inside themselves, not their companies.

So Kathi began running various business scenarios by her friend Katherine, a psychotherapist. And Katherine was able to provide psychological explanations for these difficulties. Soon after, the two began solving business problems with a combination of psychological tactics and business strategies. Over the years they've develolped a number of techniques to help people accomplish their business goals while navigating the psychological challenges of working with others. And the rest is, as they say, history!
